Does Meguiar's Ultimate Insane Tire Shine Turn Tires Brown?

This product will not discolor or turn tires brown. In fact, the intent of Ultimate Insane Tire Shine is to restore a fresh look to tires. Understanding why tires turn brown is key to understanding how this tire dressing can help. Rubber is not naturally black, so as tires age, they naturally become discolored. This happens because tires contain antiozonants that prevents the exterior rubber surface from cracking, checking, oxidizing, and deteriorating. As antiozonants work themselves to the outside of the tire, it creates a brown film. This is commonly called "blooming" and is a completely normal occurrence. When the film appears, you simply conduct a thorough cleaning of the tire to remove it, followed by an application of a dressing to freshen the appearance of the tire. In the case of Ultimate Tire Shine, it even contains antiozonants to restore protective properties to the tire rubber in addition to the cosmetic benefits.

Does Meguiar's Ultimate Tire Shine Contain Silicone?

No, silicone is not an ingredient used in this product. Some silicone-based tire products may dry or crack rubber, so this is a viable concern. See the SDS located on this page if you have any other questions or concerns about the formulation of Ultimate Tire Shine.
