What Does the AquaPrep 2 System Do to Eliminate Bad Smells?

Bad odors frequently rear their ugly head in reclaim car wash water when bacteria is not able to biodegrade quickly. Biodegradation is slowed when oxygen is not present to move this biological process along. As such, aerating to add oxygen to re-use water is a common way to degrade bacteria and get rid of foul smells. Adding ozone -essentially radicalized oxygen- ramps up this concept to a faster and more effective level, typically killing bacteria on contact. It also helps remove coloration that's present from car wash chemicals. Finally, ozone is a micro flocculent that bonds small particles, allowing them to settle at the bottom of tanks and reservoirs to leave cleaner water. SoBrite's AquaPrep systems use UV light as the means to introduce ozone to reclaim water. They don't have air dryers, corona discharge, or an ozone pump, so ozone will not be released into your equipment room in the case of a leak.
